does seem like this is all talk and no action right now doesn't it. >> reporter: that's right. and there's only a few days left in this year to get anything done and that's why president obama has called the top four congressional leaders to the white house this afternoon for a closed-door meeting charley. and he wants to try to figure out a way to end this fiscal cliff stalemate but you hear the rhetoric being talked about on capitol hill, among leaders, republicans and democrats are still pointing the blame at each other for not getting this deal done. and for the lack of progress. so still no movement yet and there's only a few days to go to a get anything done. charley. >> you know let's go to what was said yesterday we talk about harry reid referring to john boehner as dictator. and we got mitch mcconel saying we are not going to write a blank check coming up with solutions. it seals like there's no common -- seems like there's no common ground and the word lost in all

this is compromise. >> reporter: exactly. and you are correct. the feeling here in washington is that the country will in fact go over the cliff because both sides are so far apart in coming to a deal and if that happens, analysts say the first order of duty for the new congress would be to pass tax cuts and, of course, that's politically favorable so that may be the political game that a lot of lawmakers are playing here. but of course, everyone is on edge. no american wants their taxes to be increased and taxes are really the sticking point here. republicans fundamentally don't want to raise taxes on anyone but president obama is hoping that the bush tax cuts will beextended except for those making $250,000 or more and republicans say no way. clearly both sides are not coming together on anything any time soon. >> all right and the beat goes on. sandra endo in dc thanks so much for the time. news time is #:32.

posed as the aunt of a 6-year- old victim. she used facebook phone calls and text messages to solicit money for a funeral fund. she is accused of sending text to one of the donors who fell for her scam texting i am a mess not looking forward to seeing that casket because of what will kill us all today. 11 gunshots and his body that's what she texted to people so, she is now arrested for this scam. anything you can doic do -- do i can do better. a blogger posted the addresss of a staffer after the paper published an interactive map showing the name and addresss of handgun permit owners. christopher fountain felt the article was used to harass gun owners and ahuh razzed the newspaper staff right back. the map published by the journal news on saturday allows readers to zoom in on the red dots indicating where residents are licensed to own pistols or revolvers and it prompted more than 2300 comments on the

impact us here. >> reporter: it'd can. we have the port of bolt -- it can. we have the port of baltimore here. if the longshoremen go on strike, we are talking about thousands. the cargo that comes in containers will not make it off the containers and into the storesch the economic impact would be huge -- stores. the economy imimpact would be -- impact would be huge. if a deal can't be reached thousands of dock workers will be walk off the job sunday morning. and at issue are the large containers and the payments longshoremen get for them. shipping companies usually pay royalties for the containers weight but they want to get rid of them something longshoremen are not willing to give up. economy impact would go well beyond the ports. >> the impact would be great on the dollar value side and on the cargo handling side but on the job side because these ports are major economic
